Making Steps

Editorial notes based on creator, source, or submitter information.

Plan for about 20 residents. Put housing in the center and entertainment around the outside, leaving enough open space for natural Mii interactions. The land-use maps are in the last five pages; the residential area is fully symmetrical, so build the left and right sides by mirroring each other. For residential blank space, keep two road tiles front and back, plus two to three open tiles; keep roads tight on the left and right, plus three open tiles. Main roads are two tiles wide, and one side of the smaller residential paths is one tile. Leave at least three tiles of residential open space so trees, streetlights, and chairs do not conflict and Miis will use the area. If you have more Miis, extend land on both empty sides as needed, connect the roads, and keep enough blank space.

Recreation Notes ?
Size: 20 Mii capacity Functional zones: residential area in the center, entertainment area in the outer ring Island design concept: allow Miis to interact naturally as much as possible, so enough open space needs to be left. After multiple revisions, Miis will now visit every area on the island ( ´▽`) Added some photos of Miis going about their daily life The land-use pattern sheets are on the last 5 pages. The residential area is fully symmetrical — the left and right sides can be built by mirroring each other directly. The island design isn't fully finished yet, but I'm already really happy with the overall layout so here it is for now ✨ I love the ocean so much that even the restaurant had to have a sea view ε-(´∀`; ) The plot in the upper right corner hasn't been decorated yet... still not sure what to do with it _(:_」∠)_ Notes + tips: 1. How I left open space in the residential area: 2 grid spaces for front and back roads + 2–3 grid spaces of open land; sides are flush with the road + an additional 3 grid spaces of clearance. Main roads are 2 grids wide; the side paths between houses are 1 grid wide on one side. 2. The open space in the residential area should be at least 3 grids wide — that way trees, lamp posts, and benches won't conflict with each other, and Miis will actually come to use the space. 3. If you have more Miis than shown in the layout, you can extend the land on either side as needed — just connect the paths and leave appropriate open space.
