For the school area, budget plenty of custom decoration slots: the school building, stairs, and gate already used more than 30. The night lighting works well, and placing the wishing fountain in the school courtyard gives a good close-up view.

I got halfway through editing my islanders' faces and ended up completely hooked on island design instead — my motivation to draw has never been higher. So far I've finished the school building, staircase, and school gate, and that's already used up 30+ slots. Nintendo's limit of 100 custom designs feels a little low, doesn't it... The nighttime lighting effect turned out really nice too. I put the wishing well in the school courtyard as a foreground piece and it looks pretty good, so I'm keeping it there.
