Making Steps
Editorial notes based on creator, source, or submitter information.
Start from any house preset and stretch the model upward. Erase the wall surface, stamp wood from the stamp tools onto the wall, then adjust the color with a filter. Pull straight pillars from the dashed-line area, and draw the front stairs with straight lines. For a thatched-house preset, stretch it upward, lasso the wall surface, and flatten it hard. The same idea can turn many house presets into raised treehouses.

Recreation Notes ?
You can get tree houses in various shapes by modifying the house presets.
Find a house preset and stretch the model upward first.
Erase the walls, then use the wood stamp from the stamp tool to stamp the walls, and adjust the colors with a filter.
Finally, drag straight lines at the dotted lines to create pillars, and drag straight lines on the front face to create stairs. (I prefer dragging at the dotted lines so both adjacent sides get the pattern.)
The thatched cottage preset can be modified the same way — after stretching the model up, use the lasso to select the walls and squish them flat.
Following this approach, most house presets can be converted into stilt-style structures, raising a building up from flat ground.
