Making Steps

Editorial notes based on creator, source, or submitter information.

For the base colors, use the blur brush and overlay function repeatedly. Build the butterflies with stamps, then blur and overlay them as well. The design is especially good for hue shifting, so adjust the colors to your preference. Ask the author in comments or DMs if any part is unclear.

Recreation Notes ?
The episode where I made the most use of the blur brush and overlay features lol. Basically, the base color was built up by layering with the blur brush and overlay, and the butterflies were made by layering with the stamp tool plus blur and overlay. The painting isn't super precise, so feel free to adjust it to your own preferences (not sure if that explanation makes sense haha). That said, this piece is honestly the one I've painted that works best for hue shifting — it looks good no matter how you shift it. 🥹 If anything I said wasn't clear, feel free to DM me or ask in the comments! Or if there's a style you'd like to see, let me know too 🥹 (Hands are itchy but my brain is completely empty right now)
