Making Steps

Editorial notes based on creator, source, or submitter information.

For cyber perler-bead drawing, turn on the most detailed guide grid, but do not enable drawing along guides. Zoom with R; push R up at least two notches so all guide lines appear. Use the pixel brush, preferably the second square on the second row, where one tap equals one guide cell. For very complex sheets, use the smallest square, where one tap fills a quarter cell. If the perler sheet and canvas sizes differ, draw according to the guide cells first, then use the selection tool to resize or move the finished drawing. Without a stylus, a slightly wet cotton swab can work as a capacitive stylus.

Recreation Notes ?
Bad at drawing, never done real perler beads, but hooked on cyber perler beads… Tips I've figured out over the past few days (see p1 for details): 1. Turn on the most detailed grid lines (do NOT enable "draw along grid lines") 2. Press R to zoom in, push up at least two grid squares for all grid lines to display fully 3. Select the pixel brush — recommend the second square in the second row, one tap covers exactly one grid square (If the pattern sheet is too complex, choose the smallest square instead — one tap covers a quarter of a grid square. Not needed for normal pattern sheets) ❓What if the perler bead pattern sheet and canvas size don't match? First place beads following the squares shown by the grid lines, then use the selection tool to resize/reposition afterward (see p2) ❓What if you don't have a stylus? Dip a cotton swab in a little water — let the water spread to where your finger would touch, and it works as a stylus. Lots of DIY stylus guides online
